“I have looked over some figures this morning and am happy to report the following. We have had had the system running now for 12 months – For the months from 1st July to 31st October this year our electricity cost was $8415, for the same period last year when we did not have the solar system the cost was $14127. That’s a saving of $5712 for the 4 month period. This more than covers the loan repayments, so as your people predicted it is cash flow positive. Not bad given we financed over a 3 year period only. Average daily consumption from origin energy is 153.54 kWh for the last 4 months same period last year without solar 210.95kWh. Keep in mind this was essentially last month of winter and then autumn so solar production was not running at its peak. I expect the numbers to look better over the next quarter which will more summer months. Also need to factor in that for this last quarter we paid an average of 25.83 cents per kWh and same period last year we paying 32 cents per kWh. We gained a 15% price reduction from Origin Energy on our rate since installing the solar system. So far system reliability has been 100% Installation was well done by local Wagga installers, we will own it 2 years from now, after that is extra money in our pocket. Cash flow positive, probably more like break even without the 15% discount on the old rates we used to pay. Would certainly recommend this anyone in a similar situation to us running a business who can basically use everything they generate during normal business hours”
